After having to postpone the original date, due to the pandemic, and with restrictions lifted Ixion Chapter 2501 finally were able to hold a Convocation, on the 24th July, to celebrate the significant achievement of reaching 125 years in existence. To mark the occasion the Chapter welcomed a Provincial delegation led by the Deputy Grand Superintendent in charge, E.Comp. N. Franklin, the 3rd provincial Grand Principal, E.Comp. E. Chevin as well as 3 APGP's the Provincial DC and Provincial Scribe E.

The Companions were given a summary of the last 25 years of the Chapter since the Centenary with the membership having included some illustrious and distinguished Companions. Eulogies in respect of two Companions who had sadly passed since the Chapter last met were also delivered. Much of the remainder of the meeting was given over to necessary administration including admitting a joining member, Comp. P. Lavelle, and electing the Principals and Honorary members.

E.Comp. T. Tonks presented E.Comp. N. Franklin with a cheque for £1,000 for his chosen charity. E.Comp. Franklin immediately declared that it would go to the Festival 2022. In addition, E.Comp. Franklin was surprised and delighted to receive from E.Comp. M. Robinson, on behalf of the Chapter, a memento of his visit which was a bejewelled crown of Zerubbabel on an inscribed plaque.

The Chapter also acknowledged their gratitude to those who had helped organise the meeting. In particular E.Comp. M. Saunders, E.Comp. C. Common and E.Comp. N. Ashkettle whose health scare appears to be thankfully behind him.

At the festive Board, where everyone remembered the 'fire' first time, E.Comp. Franklin thanked the Chapter and recalled some of the highlights he has enjoyed there over the years. He said that this was his last official visit before moving across to his new role in the Craft but that he could not have wished for a more enjoyable finale. However, he knew that the HRA in Essex was in the very capable hands of his successor E.Comp. Chevin.

All departed after a most enjoyable meeting and evening, looking forward to the Chapter's 150th.
